Job Summary
Pipe Laborer responsible for duties including setting up daily operations, measuring from grade stakes, driving stakes, aligning and blocking up under forms, signaling equipment operators, leveling earth, mixing concrete, finishing cement, joining and sealing pipe sections, erecting scaffolding and shoring, and performing pipe-specific tasks such as laser setup, backfilling, cutting pipe, preparing for connections, checking grades with laser or manual methods, and ensuring proper pipe slope. Requires 1 year of heavy highway construction experience; preferred qualifications include OSHA or safety certifications. Must work in Hazleton, PA, with regular exposure to outdoor conditions and use of PPE; pre-employment drug testing and health benefits provided.
Required Qualifications
- One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Regularly able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
