Job Summary
Acquire tools, measure distances from grade stakes, and drive stakes to facilitate alignment of construction machinery. Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms while leveling earth to fine grade specifications. Mix concrete, smooth finishes, and position, join, align, and seal pipe sections. Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces; prepare structures for installation. Operate a Wacker and jumping jack for backfilling duties, use cut saws to make pipe proper length, and shoot grades using laser or conventional methods. Perform connection of pipe work and check for proper pipe slope.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- One year of relevant heavy highway construction experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experienced in underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and structures
- Three years of related experience and/or training
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly talk or hear
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must have vision abilities including distance, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to regularly be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to tolerate a noise level that is usually moderate
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment drug testing
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment physical
