Job Summary
Direct crew activities for highway, pipeline, or other construction projects by reading blueprints, scheduling materials and equipment, and conducting daily huddles to establish production goals. Maintain job diaries tracking daily quantities, develop crew safety improvement plans, and enforce OSHA and company safety policies. Lead the team by example, proactively train and mentor members, and communicate effectively with customer representatives and inspectors. Recognize and rectify misalignments with company values while ensuring all crew members understand the daily plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- One year of related experience and/or training
- Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Problem solving
- Basic computer skills including Internet, email, and the use of digital cameras for work documentation
- Driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk or hear
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to see close
- Ability to see distance
- Ability to see color
