Job Summary
The Pipe Foreman will lead a crew in the installation of underground utilities, including water mains, fire mains, sewer mains, and storm drains. Responsibilities include executing pipe work according to plans and directives, managing day-to-day site activities, and ensuring safety compliance. The role requires effective communication skills, construction math proficiency, and knowledge in safe rigging procedures. Familiarity with PSCC and OSHA rules is necessary, along with the ability to read plans and operate heavy machinery.
Required Qualifications
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to measure, perform construction math and calculate slopes
- Can set up and properly use a pipe laser and builder's level
- Knowledge of safe rigging and hoisting equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of PSCC and OSHA rules, including Safe trenching guidelines
- Understands optimum moisture, densities and compaction requirements
- Read and interpret plans, including pipe restraint joint charts
- Proper techniques for joining different types of pipe; push joint, MJ, restrained joints, TR Flex and flanged.
