Job Summary
Lead a crew in the installation of underground utilities, water mains, fire mains, sewer mains, and storm drains. Execute pipe work according to plans, specifications, and directives from the Project Manager. Manage daily activities on-site and understand the production schedule. Identify and correct hazards while performing essential job functions for any position on the pipe crew. Requires effective communication skills and the ability to use construction math, pipe lasers, and builder's levels.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with installation of utilities
- Knowledge of various sizes and types of drain pipe
- Effective communication skills
- Can plan daily work from the project's four-week schedule and execute same
- Can perform and train the essential job functions for any position on the pipe crew
- Identify, report and correct hazards
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of safe rigging and hoisting equipment and procedures
- Heavy Equipment Operation
- Ability to measure, perform construction math and calculate slopes
- Can set up and properly use a pipe laser and builder's level
- Understands optimum moisture, densities and compaction requirements
- Read and interpret plans, including pipe restraint joint charts
- Proper techniques for joining different types of pipe; push joint, MJ, restrained joints, TR Flex and flanged.
Additional Requirements
- Must be physically able to work on your feet 40+ hours a week
- Must believe in working safe and being on time/early every day
