Job Summary
Pipe Fitter position at Dearing Compressor & Pump focused on layout, fitting, and interpretation of blueprints for pipe systems sized 1" to 14". Responsibilities include laying out full-scale drawings, assembling or securing pipes and fittings by welding, attaching pipes to walls or fixtures, and maintaining/cleaning pipe systems and related equipment. Candidates should have a 1-year certificate or related training plus 3 years of pipe fitting experience, 3-5 years in manufacturing, ability to read blueprints and tape measures, strong teamwork, and drug-test readiness. Knowledge of API 1104 and ASME weldments is highly desirable; advanced math including trigonometry and pipe takeoffs/formulas are relevant. Required Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training
- 3 years of pipe fitting required
- 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read blueprints and use math skills
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
- Must be able to work as a team
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Knowledge of API 1104 and ASME weldments highly desirable
- Knowledge of Pipe Fittings and Takeoffs
- Ability to layout and segment pipe to customer specs
- Ability to cut pipe, and knowledge of beveling practices
