Job Summary
Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain commercial and industrial piping systems by interpreting sketches, blueprints, and isometric drawings. Clean, bevel, and prepare pipe with various fittings and weld joints while performing layout, rigging, and transportation of materials. Cut pipe using torches and machines, thread pipe, and secure structures with brackets and clamps. Test piping systems, inspect worksites for obstructions, and plan installation sequences to coordinate with other workers. Load, transport, and unload tools and equipment, maintaining all machinery and adhering to pre-established guidelines. Work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, noise, and confined spaces. Lift up to 50 lbs and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience as a pipe fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- NCCER certified
- Ability to sketch complex isometric drawings with minimal supervision
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
- Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires
- Must have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Prior military experience
- HS diploma or GED equivalent
