Job Summary
Interpret sketches, blueprints, and isometric drawings to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain commercial and industrial piping systems. Clean, bevel, and prepare pipes with various fittings and weld joints, then perform layout, rigging, and transportation of materials. Cut and thread pipe using specialized machinery, secure pipes to structures with brackets and hangers, and test completed piping systems. Inspect worksites for obstructions, plan installation sequences, and assist in lifting and positioning heavy materials. Maintain tools and equipment while adhering to all company policies and procedures. This role requires minimal supervision, multi-tasking, and the ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and confined spaces. NCCER certification and prior military experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience as a pipe fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
- Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
- Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
- Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned
- Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
