Job Summary
Trail Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining Forest Service roads, including road maintenance, reconditioning, naturalization of trails, ensuring safety and durability, and supporting Forest Service with materials and coordination. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, coordinating with Forest Service personnel, photographing projects, documenting work, and supporting Group Sales events.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 25 years of age or older with an excellent driving record
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Good Driving Record (MVR Report required)
- Prior trail maintenance experience preferred
- Road construction, road maintenance, greenway or landscaping experience
- Water diversion experience with culverts, water bars and ditches
- Experience operating large equipment including tractors, front loaders, back hoe, dump trucks, trailers, etc.
- Experience using chainsaws, shovels, rakes, axes and other hand tools/equipment
- Effective communication skills
- Good judgment, problem-solving and prioritization skills
- Team player that is self-motivated and takes initiative
- Off-road driving experience
