Job Summary
Centerless Grinder Specialist on Weekend Shift responsible for operating automatic and hand-feed centerless grinders to manufacture fasteners and related parts. Will set up machines per blueprints, select materials and tooling, monitor dimensions with micrometers/calipers/gauges, perform SPC checks, troubleshoot machining issues, and assist with job assignments, coaching, and safety/QA on the shop floor. Requires proficiency with blueprints, shop floor systems, and advanced grinding procedures; expects strong attention to quality, safety, and adherence to HSE policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year certificate from college or technical school preferred
- Working experience in aerospace fastener manufacturing environment
- Advance knowledge of various grinder machinery and procedures
- Advance technical knowledge with quality and SPC
- Advanced knowledge of SPC, CAM software and Shop Floor Systems
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Ability to troubleshoot machining problems and perform minor repairs
- Ability to operate and set up centerless grinders and maintain tooling
- Ability to train/coach operators and participate in safety programs
