Job Summary
Teach Pilates classes as scheduled, providing modifications for varying fitness levels while adhering to standard certification guidelines. Ensure proper setup, on-time start and end times, and clean-up after each session. Record participation numbers and report equipment needs or repairs to the supervisor immediately following class. Maintain industry certification in good standing, meet continuing education requirements, and provide a fun, engaging experience for participants. Work towards meeting departmental goals while demonstrating accountability to the schedule by avoiding missed classes or seeking substitutes in advance.
Required Qualifications
- A current certification for Pilates Mat instruction from a recognized Pilates training program
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction
- CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching a variety of styles, levels and population
- A group exercise instructor certification
- NCCA accredited certification
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
- The ability to work with members in a positive, service based manner
- The ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor
