Job Summary
Measure and cut mat board, foam board, and other materials to size. Assemble custom frames using various techniques, fitting artwork and glass to ensure a tight, secure mount. Mount pieces onto boards using proper methods, then inspect finished frames for quality standards. Safely operate hand and machine tools, including computerised mount cutters and pneumatic under pinners, while maintaining a clean work area. Follow company procedures for handling and storing artwork and completed jobs. This role requires one year of professional framing experience, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift heavy materials. Located near Mimico Go Station in the Lakeshore area, the position offers medical and dental benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Minimum of one year's professional experience of cutting, assembling and finishing frames
- Knowledge of framing techniques for artwork
- Experience as a Picture Framer
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Knowledge of different framing techniques and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, including large pieces of artwork
