Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Summary
Conduct group exercises and lead one-on-one sessions with assigned residents as directed by the Physiotherapist. Assist with walking, sitting, and safe transferring while performing treatments such as applying ice packs, hot packs, ultrasound therapy, and TENS. Encourage residents to reach treatment goals and monitor health status changes, reporting updates to the supervisor. Document treatments and progress after each session per instructions. Work 35 hours per week under direct or indirect supervision. A Physiotherapy Assistant graduate is required, with experience in long-term care being an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates
- Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector
- Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home
