Job Summary
Assess, treat, and plan individualized physical therapy programs to maximize patient progress toward functional goals. Conduct therapy practice within defined standards of care while directing support staff to achieve residents' objectives. Evaluate functional needs, adjust care plans, and document evaluations and treatment goals. Maintain positive relationships with health professionals, ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols, and provide community education on physical therapy services.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
