Job Summary
Conduct individualized physical therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize patient progress toward functional goals. Evaluate functional needs and outcomes, design care plans based on thorough assessments, and direct support staff to achieve residents' objectives. Provide direction and leadership to ancillary personnel while maintaining positive relationships with other health professionals. Document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols. Maintain a positive working relationship with residents, personnel, and support agencies while adhering to resident rights and confidentiality regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
