Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments, treatment planning, and implementation to maximize patient functional goals within a skilled nursing community. Direct support staff to achieve residents' objectives while maintaining positive relationships with other health professionals and ancillary teams. Evaluate functional needs, adjust care plans, and document evaluations, treatment goals, and plans in compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols. Provide direction and leadership to promote physical therapy in the community while ensuring adherence to resident rights and confidentiality regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program
- Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- At least one year of experience as a physical therapy aide
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements
- Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables
- Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook
- Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisis situations
- Knowledge and skills to care for the physical and developmental needs of the population age groups that will be receiving services
