Job Summary
Conduct physiotherapy assessments and treatments while educating patients, families, and team members through individual and group teaching methods. Develop and implement patient care programs to address movement dysfunction, maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulatory standards, and support clinical research activities including data collection and proposal writing. Contribute to interdisciplinary care by promoting collaborative approaches, providing supervision to students, and acting as a resource for staff on body mechanics and ergonomic assessments. Maintain current knowledge of physiotherapy advancements through professional literature and education programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
- Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
- Effective communication skills with patients/residents, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers
- Understanding of other healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient/resident care
- Skill in eliciting information to understand patient/resident situations thoroughly
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and guiding others through such issues
- Participation in research activities
- Capability to provide supervision and teaching to students
- Development and delivery of in-services and presentations
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
