Job Summary
Conduct physiotherapy assessments and treatments for patients and residents, including patient education and follow-up. Develop and implement care programs addressing movement dysfunction while educating families and team members through individual and group teaching methods. Contribute to interdisciplinary care by promoting collaboration with occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists. Maintain patient records in compliance with standards and participate in clinical research activities, including data collection and proposal writing. Provide clinical supervision to students and support staff with treatment direction and ergonomic assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Current full registration as a Physiotherapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC)
- Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
- Effective communication skills with patients/residents, families, staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers
- Understanding of other healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient/resident care
- Skill in eliciting information to understand patient/resident situations thoroughly
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and guiding others through such issues
- Participation in research activities
- Capability to provide supervision and teaching to students
- Development and delivery of in-services and presentations
