Physics & Python Expert - Freelance AI Trainer
Remote · Poland or Spain
Job Summary
Physics & Python Expert for freelance AI trainer role focusing on designing computational physics problems that leverage specialized tools (e.g., FEniCS, OpenFOAM, Meep, REBOUND, CAMB, or others) and run inside Linux containers with automated judging. You will pick an anchor tool, craft problems hinging on its physics models or discretisations, write Python reference solutions, provide inputs and domain/initial conditions, define numerical tolerances, and test problems against model outputs in batches. You will iterate field configurations and solver parameters to achieve targeted pass rates, and you will collaborate with a senior reviewer to ensure task quality. The opportunity targets part-time, project-based work with a compensation up to $45/hour depending on level and pace, and requires a degree in physics, 2+ years of relevant experience, Python proficiency, and familiarity with scriptable physics packages. Fluency in English and the ability to learn new tools independently are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related field
- 2+ years of research, applied, or teaching experience
- Python proficiency
- Fluency with at least one scriptable physics package (e.g., FEniCS/DOLFINx, OpenFOAM, Meep, MPB, openEMS, Geant4, PYTHIA8, ROOT/PyROOT, WarpX, REBOUND, MESA, CAMB, CLASS, or bilby)
- Ability to design problems requiring a specialized simulation tool
- Strong written English (C1+)
