Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive evaluations, diagnose acute conditions, and perform urgent care procedures including wound repair, incision and drainage, and joint injections. Order and interpret diagnostic testing while prescribing medications aligned with clinical standards. Provide registered supervising physician oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, ensuring compliance with state regulations and documentation requirements. Mentor Advanced Practice Providers and lead the clinic clinically, particularly during the Practice Manager's absence. Maintain accurate EMR documentation and uphold infection-control and safety protocols. Collaborate with staff to optimize patient throughput and coordinate timely dispositions.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified by the applicable governing board (e.g., ABEM, ABFM, ABIM or other relevant specialty board)
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
  • Eligible and willing to serve as a Registered Supervising Physician in accordance with state requirements
  • Active, unrestricted DEA registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or collaborating with APPs
  • Willing and able to mentor provider as well as non-provider clinic staff
  • Enjoy collaborating with others and being a part of a strong team dynamic
  • Foreshadow and elevate concerns as they arise, unafraid of professional directness both with colleagues and patients
  • Supports patients through kindness; demonstrating understanding for others and contributing to the creating a community of belonging
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR)
  • Acute care evaluation and management principles
  • Pharmacology relevant to urgent and ambulatory care
  • Applicable state and federal healthcare regulations
  • Quality assurance and clinical compliance standards

Desired Qualifications

  • Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred
