Job Summary
In-house medical coverage for General, Vascular, and Cardiothoracic surgical inpatients; manage medical care not requiring specialty surgeon skills. Perform wound vac changes, central line placement, arterial line placement, drain removal, chest tube removal; prepare patients for emergency operations and coordinate with services such as neurology, renal, cardiology, pulmonary, gastroenterology, hematology, anesthesia, and ICU. Provide initial and ongoing evaluations of surgical consults in hospital or ED; support surgical patient care and assist with coordination of care and admissions as required.
Required Qualifications
- Full and unrestricted medical license from any US state or territory
- Board certification in surgery or surgical subspecialty (implied by physician role)
