Physician - Surgical Hospitalist

Physician - Surgical Hospitalist responsible for in-house medical coverage of General, Vascular, and Cardiothoracic surgical inpatients. Manages inpatient medical care and coordinates with surgical attendings for consultations; performs or facilitates procedures such as wound vac changes, central and arterial line placement, drain and chest tube management, and prepares patients for emergency operations. Collaborates with neurology, renal, cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, hematology, anesthesia, and ICU services to optimize patient outcomes. Schedule is 07:30am–4:00pm, Mon–Fri, with responsibilities as assigned; employed by the VA in San Francisco, CA with benefits including education debt reduction, PTO, retirement options, and comprehensive federal insurance. Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory; CME reimbursement possible; moonlighting not restricted.
