Job Summary
Collaborate with the Director of Bariatric Surgery and Family Medicine Chair to provide optimal care for patients with obesity through surgical and non-surgical weight-management options. Manage patients preparing for or post-bariatric surgery while overseeing non-surgical therapy programs. Foster strong relationships across Departments of Surgery and Family Medicine to support the development and maintenance of BUMCT's bariatric services. Engage in education, training, and clinical research opportunities while identifying program growth and continuous quality improvement. Increase community awareness of bariatric and obesity medicine programs. Work collegially with faculty, staff, and administrative teams within a multidisciplinary, MBSAQIP-accredited program.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Arizona medical license (or eligibility by hire date)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABOM
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience managing patients with obesity
- completion of a fellowship in Obesity Medicine
- Board Certification in Family Medicine
- Strong desire to work in an academic medical setting
