Job Summary
Collaborate with the Director of Bariatric Surgery and Family Medicine Chair to provide optimal care for patients with obesity through both surgical and non-surgical weight-management options. Foster strong relationships across Departments of Surgery and Family Medicine while supporting the development and maintenance of BUMCT's Bariatric Surgery and Obesity Medicine services. Manage patients preparing for or post-bariatric surgery, pursue education, training, and clinical research opportunities, and engage in continuous quality improvement to identify program growth. Increase community awareness of bariatric and obesity medicine programs while working collegially with faculty, staff, and administrative teams. Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Arizona medical license (or eligibility by hire date)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABOM
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience managing patients with obesity
- completion of a fellowship in Obesity Medicine
- Board Certification in Family Medicine
- Strong desire to work in an academic medical setting
