Job Summary
Conduct pre-operative nursing assessments for patients undergoing surgical procedures by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting comprehensive medical histories and pertinent anesthesia data. Synthesize assessment findings to identify problems, formulate nursing diagnoses, and coordinate patient information for the anesthesia department. Implement plans of care, delegate interventions within legal parameters, and evaluate patient outcomes against evidence-based benchmarks. Report issues requiring attention to the Anesthesiologist or medical care providers to optimize surgical care. Requires an Associate's or BSN degree in nursing, current Texas RN license, and BLS certification. Shifts run Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's degree (ADN) or diploma in nursing
- Current State of Texas License as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS Certification
