Job Summary
Conduct health screenings and psychiatric evaluations while prescribing, monitoring, and managing psychopharmacological medications for individual patients across the lifespan. Provide integrated mental health services in general health settings by collaborating with psychologists, social workers, and other providers to treat complex medical needs and comorbidities. Seek consultation and refer patients to other specialists when necessary, utilizing advanced assessment skills to emphasize health promotion and disease prevention. Work independently and in collaboration with the Behavioral Health team, maintaining strong communication skills and using good judgment in emergency situations. Schedule runs Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm with no evenings or weekends, offering part-time or full-time options.
Required Qualifications
- MD degree
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
- Competence in conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations
- Competence in prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications
- Ability to provide integrated mental health services in general health settings
- Ability to collaborate with other psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, and support staff
- Ability to seek consultation and refer patients to other providers when necessary
- Ability to collaborate with other departments and specialties when appropriate in order to effectively and ethically treat patients with complex medical needs and comorbid mental health concerns
