Job Summary
Provide Podiatry care to primary care and referred patients by examining patients, formulating diagnostic plans, and interpreting x-ray and ultrasound results. Perform procedures including nail debridement, wart excision, injection therapy, and closed reductions of minor foot fractures within the scope of credentialing privileges. Coordinate high standards of podiatric medical practice by consulting with nurses, clinical staff, and other specialists to manage patient care and treatment plans. Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, ensure compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards, and supervise clinical professionals or students. Complete mandatory training and maintain appropriate credentials and licensure in the State of Texas. This 1.0 FTE on-site role supports Central Health's patient-centered medical home environment and integrated delivery system.
Required Qualifications
- D.P.M. from an accredited college of podiatric medicine
- Completion of a residency acceptable to the Texas Podiatry Licensing Board
- Unrestricted licensed to practice Podiatric Medicine and surgery in the State of Texas
- Board Certification by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery or the American Board of Podiatric Medicine or Board Qualification followed by passage of Board Certification examination within two (2) years of employment
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number for the purpose of writing prescriptions
- Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through American Heart Association
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association

- Completion of an accredited residency in Podiatric Surgery
