Job Summary
Physician provides urgent care services to adult and pediatric patients in GoHealth Memorial Hermann Urgent Care centers. Responsibilities include examining and treating patients, obtaining medical histories, ordering/interpreting diagnostics and X-rays, making diagnoses, prescribing medications, treating minor injuries (suturing, splinting, casting), documenting progress notes, educating patients, administering vaccinations, and coordinating referrals. Supervises GoHealth PA/NPs remotely when cases are presented and acts as Collaborating Physician for PA/NP delineation of privileges. Typical shifts are 8-12 hours with other duties as assigned. Requires board-certified or board-eligible physician in Family or Emergency Medicine, active Texas medical licensure, and relevant urgent care/emergency medicine experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- 2-5 years post-residency clinical experience
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABMS or AOA in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine
- Active state medical licensure
- Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting
- Suturing, splinting, casting, and related office procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Electronic Medical Records experience
