Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and health education/counselling according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario standard of practice. Provide consultation services to Nurse Practitioners for client issues beyond their scope and contribute to chart documentation, reviews, and case conferences. Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate medical protocols, health promotion programs, and quality improvement initiatives while participating in team meetings and organizational training. Work during extended hours including evenings and weekends, participate in the on-call service, and collect, analyze, and report data as required. Apply a Social Determinants of Health perspective to reduce inequities and ensure client safety, confidentiality, and privacy.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized university
- CFPC Certification or equivalent practical experience
- General license to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Membership in the Ontario Medical Association (OMA)
- Membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Demonstrated experience with vulnerable, complex populations
- Demonstrated experience working in an inter-disciplinary teamwork environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
- Competency in MS Office Suite programs and electronic medical records systems
- Ability to obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Health Centre
- 2-FA requires the use of a personal mobile device with a recent operating system
