Job Summary
Ophthalmologist sought to join VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Stockton, CA. Provide direct patient care including history, physicals, medication management, diagnostic test evaluation, surgical procedures (cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy laser therapy, glaucoma treatment, macular degeneration injections), and clinical management. Administrative duties include overseeing the Ophthalmology Clinic operations, documenting in EMR, and participating in process improvement/quality assurance and Medical Staff activities. Responsibilities also include supervising Ophthalmology residents, medication reconciliation, and educating residents. Competitive salary range ($300K-$350K) with recruitment/relocation incentive, education debt reduction program, and comprehensive benefits; work schedule typically Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional Saturday clinics; generous PTO, pension/401K, and CME support. Required Qualifications
- Full and unrestricted medical license in any US State or territory
- Board-certified ophthalmologist (ophthalmology)
- Ability to provide direct patient care and surgical services including cataract surgery, laser therapy for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma treatment, and injections for macular degeneration
- Supervision of ophthalmology residents
- Involvement in EMR documentation and process improvement/quality assurance
- Commitment to Joint Commission readiness
