Job Summary
Ophthalmologist for the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic, Stockton, CA. Provide direct patient care for eye conditions (cataract, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy) including cataract surgery, laser therapy, injections, and medication management. Administrative duties include clinic operations oversight, supervision of ophthalmology residents, documentation in EMR, and participation in process improvement/quality assurance; ensure Joint Commission readiness. Education duties involve instructing ophthalmology residents. Benefits include a salary range of $300K-$350K, sign-on bonus, relocation incentive, Education Debt Reduction Program, generous PTO, federal pension/401K, comprehensive federal insurance, licensure support, CME reimbursement with board certification, and no physician employment contract restrictions on moonlighting. Schedule typically M-F 8:00am-4:30pm with occasional Saturday clinics; Stockton VA location.
