Job Summary
The physician provides primary medical care to Sea Mar patients as part of a care team, coordinating with staff and supervisors to deliver team-based, culturally aware services. Responsibilities include hospital and institutional care when required, appropriate referrals to specialists, prescribing medications within Washington State scope, organizing and directing preventive health programs such as immunization and disease prevention, and participating in ongoing clinical affairs to improve patient care experiences. The role supports services for diverse communities, with emphasis on Latino populations in Washington, and a strong expectation for collaboration with the Medical Director, Health Center Administrator, and administrative staff to uphold Sea Mar’s mission and values. Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO licensed in the United States
- Board certification in appropriate specialty or actively seeking board certification
- DEA certificate required if requesting privileges to prescribe controlled substances
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire and maintained
- NRP certificate required if OB privileges requested
- Pre-hire and annual employee health screening
- Annual influenza vaccine required (with exemptions possible)
- ACGME or AOA post-graduate residency completion
- Minimum 5 years post-residency board certification timeline (explicit in posting)
- Ability to work in bilingual English/Spanish environment (preferred)
