Job Summary
Remote coding-education role focused on developing and maintaining corporate coding training materials, leading training sessions for physician office coding staff, ensuring standardized practices, and contributing to policy/procedure development. The educator analyzes coding classifications, supports orientation programs for coders, collaborates with coding leadership and auditors, and utilizes coding software tools to translate healthcare data into accurate classifications. Strong emphasis on training delivery (sessions, resources, and assessment of comprehension) and cross-functional collaboration across outpatient coding workflows. Travel is part of the role.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of Franciscan coding experience
- Associate's Degree in Health Information Management - Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management - Preferred
- 5 Years Franciscan outpatient coding with CCS, CCS-P, CPC - Required
- 3 Years Outpatient Coding Experience with RHIT/RHIA – Required
- 3 Years Coding Manager or Trainer/Auditor – Preferred
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint - Required
- Detail Oriented – Required
