Job Summary
Collaborate with the Program Director to provide strategic, educational, and operational leadership for a newly ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program while maintaining an active clinical practice. Assist in curriculum design, resident recruitment, and performance evaluation, including participation in the Clinical Competency Committee and Program Evaluation Committee. Support accreditation efforts, quality improvement initiatives, and faculty development to build a culture of excellence in a growing residency program. Dedicate up to 17 hours per month to protected administrative time focused on educational oversight and program improvement.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. medical degree
- Current certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG); or hold credentials deemed equivalent to Certification by the ACGME's Obstetrics and Gynecology Review Committee
- Unrestricted credentials within Sutter Health
- Licensed, or able to obtain a license, to practice medicine in the state of California upon date of hire
- Demonstrated interest in medical education, resident teaching, and leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Prior involvement in resident education, faculty development, curriculum design, or residency leadership
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and mentorship skills
- Experience as Core Faculty, Assistant/Associate Program Director, Program Director, or participation in residency committees (CCC, PEC, or similar)
- Recent scholarly activity such as peer-reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in local, regional, or national committees or organizations
- Be passionate about resident education and physician development
- Demonstrate a collaborative and team-oriented leadership style
- Thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy building new programs and processes

- Be committed to excellence in patient care, education, and professional development
