Job Summary

Provide Obstetrics and Gynecology services, including medical and surgical management for prenatal, postnatal, and female pelvic conditions. Evaluate and treat the full range of OB/GYN patients from pediatric to geriatric, perform advanced examinations for referred consultations, and address functional or dysfunctional problems such as masses, pain, and hormonal dysfunction. Conduct diagnosis and treatment for infections, bleeding abnormalities, and urological complaints. This role requires US citizenship, an MD or DO degree, and completion of accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training. Selectees must possess an unrestricted medical license, pass a Personnel Security Investigation, and maintain Basic Life Support certification. The position involves moderate to heavy lifting, potential on-call rotation during evenings, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to specific immunization and tuberculosis testing requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada
  • Degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training
  • Successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Obstetrics and Gynecology)
  • Equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years
  • Appointment subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
  • Personnel Security Investigation required
  • Consent to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption
  • Consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing
  • Pre-placement medical examination
  • Immunization screening
  • Proof of Hepatitis B immunization
  • Proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Ability to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges
  • Ability to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules
  • Ability to moderate to heavy lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Tuberculosis testing
