Job Summary
Conduct history and physical examinations, admit patients, provide consultative services, and deliver nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with neurologic system disorders. Manage approximately 10 patients daily within a collaborative practice of two physicians and one nurse practitioner. Maintain Primary Plus Stroke Center Certification and pursue Stroke Program Directorship opportunities. Secure an academic appointment at the UND School of Medicine and Health Services to educate medical students and family medicine residents.
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months
- Active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months
- Board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training
