Job Summary
Evaluate and manage patients with neurobehavioral and neurocognitive disorders, including dementias, neuropsychiatric syndromes, and cognitive impairment due to neurological disease. Order, interpret, and synthesize diagnostic studies such as brain MRI, PET scans, EEG, neuropsychological assessments, and relevant laboratory workups. Initiate and monitor pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments, including cognitive enhancers, behavioral interventions, and symptomatic therapies. Coordinate care with neuropsychology, psychiatry, speech and occupational therapy, social work, and primary care providers. Educate patients and families on disease progression, treatment options, prognosis, and strategies for daily functioning and quality of life. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, neurobehavioral-focused quality improvement initiatives, and case conferences. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. Contribute to teaching programs, peer consultation, and development of clinical protocols and care pathways.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Washington State by employment start date
- DEA registration, NPI, and prescriptive authority
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of neurology residency and fellowship training in behavioral neurology, neuropsychiatry, or related subspecialty preferred
- Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
