Job Summary
Conduct examination, diagnosis, and treatment of full-range OB/GYN patients with emphasis on ambulatory care. Perform screening and diagnostic modalities for malignancies including biopsies and colposcopy, while providing primary preventive care and education. Evaluate functional and dysfunctional pelvic problems and manage emergency obstetrical cases, utilizing expertise in abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasonography. Handle emergencies and perform on-call duties. Guide, instruct, and train residents, interns, medical students, and other personnel in ambulatory OB/GYN care through lectures and clinical supervision. Maintain current knowledge through annual continuing medical education.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Expertise in both abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasonography as pertains to ambulatory medicine
- Ability to utilize and perform screening and diagnostic modalities for OB/GYN malignancies (biopsies and colposcopy)
- Ability to provide primary preventive care and education for women seen in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic
- Ability to evaluate both functional and dysfunctional problems related to the female pelvis to include masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal dysfunction, and infections
- Ability to evaluate emergency obstetrical problems and subsequently treat or appropriately refer the same
- Ability to handle emergencies
- Ability to perform on-call duties
