Job Summary
Conduct clinical leadership and strategic guidance for hospice and palliative care programs across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and home-based settings. Perform hospice face-to-face encounters, review and sign certificates of terminal illness and death certificates, complete palliative and hospice consultations, and function as attending physician when needed. Lead the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), oversee clinical decision-making, and provide 24/7 call coverage for clinical and administrative issues. Assist in program development, quality initiatives, policy creation, and accreditation processes for DNV, CMS, and other governing bodies. Collaborate closely with advanced practice nurses as their collaborating physician and engage with key community stakeholders. Uphold organizational compliance, reporting, documentation, and performance standards while representing the program to internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid state medical license with prescriptive authority for the state of Ohio, without restrictions
