Job Summary
Provide comprehensive outpatient care while managing a patient panel in a team-based environment. Serve as a clinical informatics leader supporting EHR optimization, workflow design, and system enhancements across the organization. Act as the liaison between physicians, operations, and IT to drive adoption of digital tools and lead provider training initiatives. Lead initiatives to improve clinical efficiency, usability, and outcomes through data-driven care. This blended role combines 0.7 FTE direct patient care with 0.3 FTE informatics leadership to advance quality and provider experience. Join Sansum Medical Group Santa Barbara, a multispecialty group within Sutter Health, to contribute to the total hip and knee joint replacement program.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or other applicable specialties)
- Active California medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA certification
- Active clinical practice experience in an ambulatory setting
- Knowledge of ambulatory workflows in Epic
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care delivery
- Ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and technical teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Clinical Informatics
- Epic certification or advanced training (e.g., Smart User Badge, Builder Certification, or similar)
- Experience with EHR optimization, workflow design, or health IT initiatives
- Experience leading or supporting provider education and training initiatives
- Leadership or committee involvement in informatics or quality improvement
