Job Summary
Direct acute burn resuscitation and critical care management, providing operative treatment for major injuries and leading rehabilitation planning. Utilize advanced skin coverage, grafting, and reconstructive techniques while partnering with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated care. Oversee quality improvement initiatives, program development, and hospital collaboration to expand the ABA-verified burn program. Maintain ABA verification standards and guide clinical excellence across a dedicated 16-bed trauma and step-down unit. Work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend rounding, no overnight responsibilities, and a two-week monthly call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including prior experience leading a burn program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited burn fellowship
- Fellow of the American Burn Association (FABA)
- Florida Medical License or ability to obtain one
- Monday – Friday schedule with occasional weekend rounding assistance
- No overnight responsibilities
- Call schedule: 2 weeks per month
- Dedicated: 16 bed trauma/burn and 16 bed trauma/burn step down unit
- Dedicated operative team with priority given to burns
- Collaborative multidisciplinary environment including experienced APPs, therapist, specialized nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and hospital leadership
