Physician - MD/DO - Pediatric Hospitalist

Job Summary
Provide pediatric ED coverage, round on newborns, and attend c-sections and deliveries in the labor and delivery room. Manage admission, management, and discharge of pediatric patients in conjunction with attending physicians, responding to requests from the facility's Emergency Department for patient evaluation and treatment. Consult with neonatologists as necessary for neonates in the nursery and respond to requests for pediatric consults from other departments. Collaborate with advance practice nurses and the Program team to ensure continuity of care. Available for 12-hour day or night shifts in PRN, part-time, or full-time roles throughout the St. Louis Metro Area.
Required Qualifications
- NRP Certification
- MD or DO degree
- Pediatric Hospitalist experience
- Ability to provide pediatric ED coverage
- Ability to round on newborns
- Ability to attend c-sections and deliveries
- Ability to attend high-risk deliveries
- Ability to attend normal deliveries
- Ability to consult with neonatologists for neonates
- Ability to respond to requests from facility's Emergency Department for patient evaluation and treatment
- Ability to respond to requests for pediatric consults from other departments
- Ability to collaborate with advance practice nurses (APN)
- Ability to collaborate with members of the Program team
- Availability at all times during scheduled shifts
- Willingness to work 12 hour shifts day/night
- Willingness to work PRN, Part Time, or Full Time schedules
- Willingness to work in the St. Louis Metropolitan area
- Willingness to comply with designated hospital bylaws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
