Job Summary
Physician Lab Sales Specialist (PLSS) is responsible for driving sales of CLIA-waived and moderately complex diagnostic solutions into physician-owned laboratories, urgent care centers, community health clinics, and specialty practices. The role includes positioning non-waived instrumentation and multi-year reagent rental agreements, balancing transactional consumables and POC testing with strategic instrument placements, and providing consultative support around compliance, reimbursement, and lab workflow optimization. Key responsibilities include developing strategic account plans to maximize revenue and territory reach; partnering with Field Sales Consultants and cross-functional teams to coordinate customer strategy; building trusted advisor relationships with physicians, lab directors, administrators, and decision-makers; conducting diagnostic workflow analyses to identify opportunities for instrument upgrades, vendor consolidations, and reimbursement improvements; maintaining deep knowledge of CLIA regulatory environments and monitoring competitive activity; serving as a laboratory diagnostics subject matter expert to internal teams; and demonstrating strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. The role requires typically 7+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree (global equivalent) with Master’s preferred, and potential industry certifications; extensive travel within the designated territory (minimum travel ~50%) and a home-office work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Typically 7 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience.
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.
- Master's degree or global equivalent preferred.
- May hold two or more industry certifications.
