Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to hospitalized patients by managing acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex medical cases. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective communication and facilitate smooth transitions of care within the hospital and upon discharge. Perform minor procedures, write orders for medications, treatments, and tests, and develop individualized treatment plans. Work 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a) with an average patient load of 18-20, supported by 24/7 in-house anesthesia, pediatric hospitalists, and intensivist coverage. On-call for Trama surgery and access to diverse specialties including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and GI. Requires a current South Carolina M.D. or D.O. with post-graduate residency completion and unrestricted state medical licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified Hospital Medicine Physician
- Current South Carolina M.D. or D.O.
- Successfully completed a post-graduate residency program
- Valid, current and unrestricted SC medical license
- Current state and federal controlled substance licenses
- Familiarity with a wide range of ailments, diseases, disorders and injuries
- Competency to perform minor procedures
