Job Summary
Obtain health history, perform physical examinations, and diagnose patients while directing treatment and instructing staff on care implementation. Request and evaluate lab tests, prescribe medication according to state statutes, and arrange referrals for services outside the practice. Educate patients and families on medication and treatment instructions, document all activities and interventions, and supervise mid-level practitioners including PAs and NPs. Maintain Continuing Medical Education hours and perform patient procedures relevant to protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D)
- Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O)
- completed residency
- Board Eligible
- Board Certified
- current State of TN Medical License
- DEA certificate
- malpractice insurability
- authority to provide medical services on behalf of all governmental and private insurers
- health maintenance organizations
- preferred provider organizations
- self-insured employers
- hospitals
- any other organizations with which the group contracts to provide health care services
- Licensed Physician (M.D or D.O) in the State of Tennessee
