Job Summary
As a home care hospice physician with VITAS Healthcare, provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered end-of-life care in home settings, managing 45-60 patients via an interdisciplinary team. Conduct in-person home visits and telehealth, participate in Weekly IDG meetings, educate patients/caregivers/communities on hospice benefits, and collaborate with social workers, chaplains, and nurses. Requires state medical/osteopathy licensure, board certification or eligibility in hospice and/or internal medicine or family practice, and DEA registration. Work primarily in patients' homes or supervised settings, with weekly visits to a local program office.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice medicine or osteopathy in the state where the program operates
- Board-certified or board-eligible in hospice and palliative medicine, internal medicine, family practice, or a related specialty
- Familiar with hospice principles
- DEA registration
