Job Summary

Provide expert geriatric assessment and management recommendations for patients under Medicine, Trauma & Orthopedics, ICU, and Sub-specialty Services teams. Manage multi-morbidity, polypharmacy, fragility fractures, perioperative optimization, delirium prevention, and end-of-life transitions. Mentor residents, fellows, and medical students in geriatric principles while leading scholarly activity and clinical research. Design and implement quality improvement protocols to reduce hospital-acquired complications such as falls, pressure ulcers, and delirium. This role expands inpatient consultation services at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, with a potential 0.25 FTE leadership opportunity as Associate Program Director for Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Scholarly Activity within the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix.

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certification: Dual or single Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine or Palliative Medicine
  • A minimum of five (5) years of post-fellowship experience within an Academic Medical Center
  • Proven commitment to scholarly output, including peer-reviewed publications or significant contributions to medical education
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and lead within a "team-of-teams" environment
