Job Summary
Provide expert geriatric assessment and management recommendations for Medicine, Trauma & Orthopedics, ICU, and sub-specialty patients, addressing delirium prevention, end-of-life transitions, and perioperative optimization. Serve as a core Faculty member by mentoring residents, fellows, and students while engaging in scholarly activity and leading quality improvement protocols to reduce hospital-acquired complications. This role integrates specialized care across complex clinical pathways at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, with a potential 0.25 FTE leadership opportunity as Associate Program Director for Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Scholarly Activity within the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certification: Dual or single Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine or Palliative Medicine
- A minimum of five (5) years of post-fellowship experience within an Academic Medical Center
- Proven commitment to scholarly output, including peer-reviewed publications or significant contributions to medical education
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and lead within a team-of-teams environment
