Job Summary
Provide expert geriatric assessment and management recommendations for patients under Medicine, Trauma & Orthopedics, ICU/Critical Care, and Sub-specialty Services teams. Manage multi-morbidity and polypharmacy, co-manage fragility fractures and perioperative optimization, and address delirium prevention and end-of-life transitions. Serve as a core faculty member by mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students, engaging in scholarly activity, and designing quality improvement protocols to reduce hospital-acquired complications. This 0.25 FTE leadership opportunity includes Associate Program Director responsibilities for Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, and Scholarly Activity within the Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certification: Dual or single Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine or Palliative Medicine
- A minimum of five (5) years of post-fellowship experience within an Academic Medical Center
- Proven commitment to scholarly output, including peer-reviewed publications or significant contributions to medical education
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and lead within a team-of-teams environment
