Job Summary
The Geriatrics & Extended Care Staff Physician provides comprehensive patient-centered care for Veterans in the Geri-PACT clinic, engaging in clinical duties from patient history through treatment planning, coordination with specialists, and education for patients and families. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting diagnostics, collaborating with on-site and community providers, ensuring timely documentation in CPRS, maintaining privileges, cross-coverage within the GEC services, and contributing to process improvement and program initiatives within the VCBCCS. Relocation incentives may be authorized and Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligibility is noted; education, staff collaboration, and adherence to professional standards and regulatory requirements are emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
- MD or DO degree (implied by physician licensure and VA physician role)
- ability to provide patient care within VA system and meet credentialing/privileging requirements
